Cheese Fossil EP

by Training Brah

Do you hear that sound?

That's the sound of a cresting wave of Angry African garage-punk crashing upon our shores bringing with them the beer-soaked basement show and unfiltered cigarettes mayhem of debauched Midwestern show - just a little more desperate. Like getting out of your head for a 20 minute set isn't a weekend diversion but a damned necessity.

That sound crashing around you is self-evident the brittle crackle of guitar riffs maxxxing out amplifiers on "Girl Germs" or the distant pitter-patter of double-timed drums being hit very hard and the jump-out-of-your-body major chord riffage on "Come on Comet!". It's all going to break. And when it does we won't be watching from the shore. Because there will be no shore. All is sound.

Training Brah (which I like to pronounce "training, brah" as in response to the question "why are you running?") is a Cape Town duo comprised of Dolf Baker and Joy Smith whose Rude Wave brand of off-kilter punk finds its first American release on Heligator.

All proceeds from the sale of this EP go towards keeping the Malindza Refugee Camp Library up and running. After almost two years of running this label as a fundraising platform the library there have been some pretty major improvements there. Lights have been installed which means extended hours and later study times, improvements and repairs on shelving and (FINALLY) a stamp with their logo on it. Thank you and thank you and keep on donating and getting amazing music!
