Wing & Claw is made up of Genevieve Smith & James Miska, both of the band Bramble. James and I rode our bikes from Seattle to San Deigo, playing shows and writing songs along the way, thus birthing the band Bramble, we toured and toured and sang our hearts out, then parted ways, and in came Genevieve. Genevieve came in and dominated both the music of Bramble, Lake Mary, Eric Rich Ensemble as well as her own. When I was recording White River (Scissor Tail Records) I enlisted the help of James and Genevieve, they each showed up and made some magic with the song.
I am very lucky to have them each play with me in the Utah / Touring versions of the band. James holds a place so deep in my heart, we have been all over this country together, ups and downs, whiskey nights, taught meditation classes together, he is such a beautiful man. Genevieve is such a good compliment to this, her musically ability, her lifestyle, her overall style as a person, what a joy to be around.
